How to Be Positive in a Negative World
"Positivity or negativity, both are a choice"
Everything in life is a choice. You can choose to go along with what everyone else is doing, which is easy, or you can choose to march to the beat of your own drum. Negativity is easy and takes little effort. Positivity, on the other hand, is a habit that must be developed. As humans it’s easy for us to gripe, complain, and find something negative in everything. However, life is too short to waste this way. Choosing to be positive in a negative world is challenging, but like anything else: IT CAN BE DONE! I like to teach from my own experience, so below are 3 ways I stay positive in a negative world.
1) Find Things to Be Grateful For. Keep a piece of paper and a pen by your bed. Write down 3 things you are grateful for. You can do this in the morning or at night, whichever works for you.
2) Practice Thankfulness. When you find your thoughts or speech turning negative STOP, and think of 1 thing you are thankful for.
3) Build Relationships with Positive People. It’s hard to live a positive life if you spend your days with negative people. We become like the people we’re around, so be careful who you allow into your circle. Love yourself enough to let go of toxic people and relationships.
